As a not for profit social enterprise one of the reasons we introduced SIRCS was because the practices of commercial crime management software providers and their prohibitive costs and user licences had restricted the growth, availability and even the evolution of business crime reduction partnerships in the UK. We do not charge user licence fees or tie partnerships into 3 year contracts and we hope that by pushing boundaries the commercial providers will follow suit saving partnerships and their member's money. The fact that SIRCS is available at a fraction of the cost of commercial systems and it provides secure, audited, 24/7, encrypted access to a partnerships information via the internet, intranet or mobile phone marks a new era for business crime reduction in the UK. As an organisation we are proud of the fact we can make SIRCS available and affordable to all partnerships, from those with just a few members to those with several hundred.
The aim of the SIRCS National Business Crime Reduction Partnership is to disrupt and reduce cross-border crime and facilitate proportionate, secure and effective information sharing between business crime reduction partnerships and the police nationally.to help tackle cross border crime. The scheme will link up all the individual SIRCS partnerships in Great Britain and access will be free to all UK police officers, authorised members of the Association of Town Centre Management, SOCA and other organisations such as the Gambling Commission. The SIRCS National Partnership reinforces our philosophy of maximising citizen participation to solve community problems.
